We lived in the small city of Te Anau on the South Island of New Zealand and have the beauty of wild nature just in our backyard. Fjords with endless waterfalls, many hiking options including world-famous Great Walks, crystal clear lakes, majestic glaciers, an unbelievable variety of birds as Kea, Takahe, or Kiwi and so much more. At the end of our 3 months adventure we had the pleasure of finding an amazing spot for horseback riding at Cape Farewell, our first jump out of the plane above Fox Glacier or swimming with hundreds of Dusky Dolphins that are very friendly creatures.
