We originally moved to Norway for just a couple of months – but more than five years have now passed, and we’re still here, completely in love with this incredible country. What was supposed to be a short adventure quickly became a place that feels like home.
Our journey began in the south after taking the ferry from Denmark and driving all the way up to the far north until we reached the majestic archipelago of Lofoten. Norway’s nature is astonishingly diverse: steep fjords, monumental peaks, ancient glaciers, turquoise beaches, and countless waterfalls that seem to appear around every bend.
After our time in Lofoten, we moved even farther north to the beautiful Malangen region, where we continued exploring some of Norway’s most extraordinary places – the dramatic cliffs and wild landscapes of Senja, the peaceful archipelago of Vesterålen, the white-sand Arctic beaches of Sommarøy, and the sharp, glacier-carved peaks of the Lyngen Alps. Each place felt like stepping into a new world.
We were lucky to witness these regions in every season – from golden summer nights under the midnight sun to the magical winter skies glowing with the northern lights. Living far above the Arctic Circle means experiencing nature at its most intense and unforgettable. Every fjord, mountain ridge, ocean storm, and calm sunrise has shaped our connection to this land.
