We lived in the peaceful town of Te Anau on the South Island of New Zealand, with wild nature literally in our backyard. Towering fjords draped in endless waterfalls, crystal-clear lakes, world-famous Great Walks, majestic glaciers, and an incredible variety of native birds — from the cheeky Kea to the rare Takahe and the elusive Kiwi — made every day feel like stepping into a living postcard.
During our three-month adventure, we were lucky to experience unforgettable moments: horseback riding on the dramatic coastline of Cape Farewell, skydiving above the shimmering ice of Fox Glacier, and swimming with hundreds of playful Dusky Dolphins — some of the friendliest marine creatures you can imagine.
