Our three weeks in Nepal became one of the most unforgettable and defining adventures of our lives. For 16 days, we took on the legendary Everest Base Camp trek combined with Gokyo Lakes, a route as breathtaking as it is demanding. It was autumn, just after massive flooding had reshaped trails and cut off easy access. Instead of the quick, scenic flight to Lukla, we found ourselves on a wild, days-long off-road jeep journey – bouncing over broken roads, clinging to mountain edges, and wondering more than once if we were completely out of our minds. Once on the trail, the mountains greeted us with both beauty and challenge. We struggled with altitude sickness, delays, and days that felt impossibly long, but we refused to give up. Step by step, breath by breath, we pushed through.

Turquoise lakes of Gokyo, the dramatic climb over Cho La Pass, but most importantly – the approach toward the shadow of Everest felt like scenes from another world. Reaching Everest Base Camp and standing among the giants of the Himalayas was nothing short of heroic for us – a moment of pure triumph after days of exhaustion, uncertainty, and grit.  It was crazy hard, emotional, surreal, and absolutely one of our proudest achievements. Nepal didn’t just test us; it transformed us.
